Sandton City runs 11 screens spread across the mall - and until recently, updating them meant exactly what it sounds like: someone walking to each of the 11 screens, pulling the USB drive, uploading new content onto it, then walking back to physically reinsert it. Repeat 11 times, across one of the country’s largest malls, every time a new promotion needed to go up. While the USBs were being updated, the screens they came from sat blank.

It’s one of the most common pain points in digital signage - and one of the easiest to fix once you see it clearly.

The fix: Bloom, on the screens they already had

TST Digital installed Bloom, its cloud content management platform, directly onto Sandton City’s existing Samsung commercial-grade screens - no hardware replacement needed. New content now goes out to all 11 screens with a single click from one dashboard, with no blank-screen gaps and no walking the mall floor.

Scheduling in action: the Springbok signing

A recent example shows why automated scheduling matters beyond convenience. Sandton City had been promoting the Springbok rugby team’s in-mall signing for a week beforehand. Using Bloom’s content scheduling, that promotional creative was set to automatically drop out of the rotation the moment the signing ended at 11:30 - with nobody needing to manually pull it at the right moment.
