Pasta Boys started with an idea its founders saw working overseas and didn’t yet exist in South Africa: an on-the-go pasta bar, built for the same fast-casual pace as a QSR burger or coffee counter, but with pasta instead. It’s a category with effectively no direct local precedent - which made getting the launch right matter even more.

The concept proved itself with a soft launch in Cape Town. Now Pasta Boys is preparing to open its Sandton City location, and TST Digital is the signage and software partner behind it.

The setup: menu plus flexibility, from a standing start

For a brand-new concept, the screens can’t just display a menu - they need to be able to flex as the menu, pricing and promotions evolve in the first months of trading. TST Digital installed two 55-inch commercial-grade screens for the Sandton City store - a primary menu screen, and a second screen for promotional content, both run through Bloom, TST Digital’s cloud content management platform.

Pasta Boys is already using Bloom to manage that content directly - adding promotions, adjusting what’s featured, without needing to touch the hardware or wait on anyone else.

Built to grow with them

As Pasta Boys expands beyond Sandton City, TST Digital is set to be their ongoing partner for every new store - handling the screen installation and running it all through the same Bloom account, so a growing multi-location brand never has to rebuild its signage setup from scratch each time it opens a new door.
